You will need these documents to fill out our written application:
- Unofficial transcript, such as a student copy. You do not need a notarized official transcript from the university where you completed (or where you are currently in your final year of study towards) your bachelor’s degree. If you are admitted, the admissions team will request an official transcript to verify your credentials.
- Statement of Purpose: In your statement of purpose, you will tell the admissions team about yourself, explain why you want to join the MSIT/MSECE program and talk about your career goals. There is not word limit, but be clear and concise. Please note that applicants who plagiarize will be blacklisted and cannot apply to CMU-Africa again in the future. Learn how to write an effective Statement of Purpose.
- An up-to-date CV, such as one you would submit when applying for a job.
- Recommendations: You will need the contact information for three individuals who can provide the application team with a recommendation for you. Be certain to select people who know you well. You will not need letters of recommendation—the application team will contact your references.
- A valid ID or passport
If you are applying to MSECE, you will be directed to CMU’s ECE website. Your $70 application fee will be waived if you select “Africa” as the location.
