18-882-RW   Energy System Modelling

Location: Africa

Units: 12

Semester Offered: Spring

Course description

This course surveys modeling methods applied to energy systems. Topics will include optimization, simulation, time series models, statistical models and regression analysis, and stochastic models. These modeling techniques will be applied to a variety of areas of energy analysis including load forecasting, power flow analysis, dispatch models, electricity markets, and energy project financial analysis. On completion of the course, students will have a broad set of tools to use in modeling energy systems.
